So here are some quotes and or sayings that I have to get out, I honestly do not remember where they all come from and or who actually said them but I do not take credit for anything that is not mine. I may add more throughout time, or maybe I should just create my collection of quotes in parts...either way I will figure that out later and this will get the ball rolling.
I have been in a weird place in my mind lately - growing pains that I havnt felt since middle school or high school. It's strange but enjoyable at the same time, I kind of really enjoy this place but it has its moments of torture. Anyhow the quotes resonate with me and the fact that they resonate with me reminds me that I have beleifs that I don't think about consiously. Do I act as I believe?
1. "Why do we die? So that life is more meaningful." (from a movie called After.Life)
2. "You are too concerned with what was and what will be. There's a saying. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the "present"." (Kung Fu Panda)
3."IF I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain; If I can ease one life the aching, Or cool one pain, Or help one fainting robin Unto his nest again, I shall not live in vain." (Emily Dickinson)

Poetic line drafts
All of these are starts to an unfinished poem I wrote, or poetic lines that could belong in a poem that inspire one that has not been written yet. Some of these were written years ago and could reflect old styles of thought and/or core beliefs.
Poem draft 1: Title: "Light of my life" And inspired by the feelings for my true love.
You are the sun and the moon
You are the light in my world
Each morning I wake and each night I lay
I am bathed in your light and guided each day.
With you I know no misery, you bring me joy when my world is in pain.
Never needed anyone like I need you, and with you I will never need again.
You are the sun and the moon
If I only had one breath in me left, I would give it to you,
If I only have one life to live before my death, I want to live it with you.
I could get lost in your reflection...
By: Sheena Byrd.
Poem Draft 2: Untitled
What is wrong with me? What is wrong with me?
I am who I am, but do not know who to be!
My spirit is dimmed and caged
My dreams are smeared by reality
My life is propped and staged
And I am not one with my duality
I keep looking for something more
Beneath the surfaces and facades
to the depth of what has a core
without knowing any of the odds
Fulfilled only by hope
Does blind faith lead the way?
And if I leap without a rope,
is it blind and ignorant I stay?
By: Sheena Byrd.
Poem Draft 3: Titled: "Brother of Mine" Unfinished and inspired by a true story
Bloodshed from his nose
tears welled and rose
A series of misunderstandings propagated in his mind
See the confusion in his eyes?
he thinks the answers are in disguise
little does he know that the truth to him was already told
Anger flushes him from head to toes
"Brother of mine, half but still mine"
the older of the two exclaims
"My love for you is great, and I would kill all those you hate,
even if they were friends of mine!"
"If it angers you so do let it go, just leave it all behind!"....
By: Sheena Byrd.
Poem Draft 4: Untitled
Twisted broadening horizons,
Stuck with reality of the virtual,
of the pretenders and the underlying truths in their breath,
while their eyes blink smoke and stars,
a world performs the big bang,
and her smile is intoxicating, with all the charm to melt you inside.
By: Sheena Byrd.
Poem Draft 5: Titled "Forgot thoughts"
Simply a thought,
then forgot,
left behind,
Abandoned to dissapate in the wind.
These are condemned thoughts,
they dwell in a realm of purgatory,
aimlessly free,
wandering through the opposite of space and time,
like that of a ghost,
thinking to its self: (yes a thought within a thought)
"I want to live!"
The purpose becomes to seek purpose
Only! purpose is not a forgot thought!
And so for a while the condemned thoughts swirl about
within and without,
trying to thrive, reminded that it is alive!
Only in a world that cannot see,
locked alone,
in this cell of purgatory.
Then comes a light,
so vivid,
and so bright!
a gateway to the otherside!
Just hold on and wait to collide
and become the thought you thought you forgot.
By: Sheena Byrd.
Here is a very old poem I wrote when I was very angry, it goes kind of fast and is pretty long, but maybe it should still be posted/published since it is a work I find to be interesting.
Poem: Untitled
Uninspired by this monotony
There needs to be a change in you, not it me!
Its feeling a lot like that movie "Ground Hogs Day"
I'm hitting fast forward and you're hitting replay.
Holding back this frustration,
Its all hesitation.
You own the remote, can you please change the station?
And relieve me from this ongoing aggravation?
Its like being bound and gagged to a chair
and all you want to do is pull my hair
See the pain your inflicting and don't even care!
I'm human too,
how would you like it if I do it to you?
You wouldn't, So I dont!
That's not me, that's you!
I couldn't, So I wont!
Eat the consequenses of the actions you provoke!
I'm not kidding, this is'nt a f*cking joke!
Get me started, and you could'nt cope!
I'll lay it all out on the table
the truth hurts when your not stable,
its hard by yourself when you have been rendered disabled,
So take a step back, you should be grateful.
Lets not let the pain that we feel make us so hateful.
I will be waiting for you, because I consider patience a virtue,
Over time I have learned to control my anger so that I dont hurt you,
But you keep on acting silly
Like what you do to yourself doesn't hurt me,
Its like watching someone on life support, its sad!
Pretending everything is ok when you go home but really your mad!
So I put on my game face
Its all part of the human race
Somehow I am in a familiar place
Dajavu, Im going in vicious circles and cycles,
My instincts tell me to go where the light grows,
Carry out God's will and I'll start hitting on my goals
But that still doesnt cure the confusion to all of the things I dont know
because there are no words to describe
all of the feelings I have inside
None of them justify
No answers to the questions why?
Feeling fragile, like at any moment I could shatter
But I wont let that happen, that's not what I was taught
none of what I am or value can ever be store bought
So I muster up my strength
Going far beyond a great length
to show you my solution
there needs to be a radical change NOW to cause a revolution
In yourself and this worldly institution
But if we are not together, then we are falling apart
If we are not unified at the soul then we are not unified at the heart
If we are not here for the win how are we ever going to start?
So Im telling you now
This is the only way I see how
and I write a poem or two
to try to get through to you
Knowing your not interested
so how could you every really get it?
I thought love healed all hurts, turned out that its the cause
Its my hearts only function, I wish I could put on pause
But I give it a standing ovation and a round of applause
Its the purest form and reason I carry on this way
Just to fight, to live, to see, to be another day
and to love you if I may

Bridesmaid dresses and ideas
Hi Ladies!
I wanted to give you some ideas for bridesmaid dresses and accessories for the wedding. I would like you all to pick your own dress, especially since everyones style and budget is different so I hope this works out for all. Who better to dress you than you! So here are some general guidelines for finding the dress:
I think the dresses should be purple and the burnt orange will just be added as accents, plus I think the flowers may be a burnt orange color. For the purple dresses think more like plum, eggplant, or raisin, etc. - more of the darker purple with slight red undertones.
We are getting married in a backyard garden, so this of course is going to be incorporated into the theme. I have been looking at pictures online just to get and give ideas. I do not want you all to match so there is no specific dress store or website you need to order from. Here are some theme words to give you an idea of the theme or type of wedding I have in mind:

The main color theme is
Dark Purple and Burnt Orange

I do not want you all to match so there is no specific dress store or website you need to order from. Here are some theme words to give you an idea of the theme or type of wedding I have in mind:
- DIY
- Soft
- Romantic
- Slight Vintage feel
- Modernistic touches
- Calm/Serene
- Artsy
- And so on...
With that said here is some photo inspiration:
This is the same bridal party as shown above but with some vintage photo effects |
Here are a couple garden theme photos to help show style and the feel I'm going for. |
Now for the dresses!
Do's/Don'ts
- Do pick a shade of plum/dark purple color that will not be too light, too red, or too blue.
- Do pick a dress that is anywhere from right above the knee to mid calf length being the longest.
- Do pick a floral pattern if you like that pattern better than solid and the color works.
- No shiny fabric please - our wedding is not formal enough :)
- Try for flowy fabrics that are not shiny such as chiffon.
- Style and cut is completely up to you!
Again these photos about to be seen are just to give you ideas and inspiration and to convey the idea of what the look is for the wedding. I tried to stay in the color pallette but some of the pictures are merely for style ideas.
This color, style, and fabric is exactly what I had in mind. So pretty. |
